Frequently Asked Questions

Is Acupuncture appropriate for my condition?

Traditional Chinese medicine is a complete medical system in its own right and it can address most health conditions. If you are hesitant about scheduling an appointment, try a complimentary 10 minute phone consultation to discuss your health concerns and see if acupuncture and Chinese medicine is appropriate for you.

How do I take herbal medicine?

Chinese herbal medicine is often taken internally as a tea, but it can also be consumed as a powder, tincture or pill. There may also be occasions where it is administered externally as an ointment, lotion or wash.

Most typically, though, the administration of Chinese herbs is through tea. Through this method, you will be given a bag of dried herbs to boil and strain, which will be divided into portions for daily ingestion.

As well as this, we can offer concentrated herbal extracts which are easy to mix with water, and does not require the traditional methods of boiling. Extracts are more palatable to taste, and are just as effective.

What is the normal course in addressing my chronic condition?

The number of sessions depends on the severity and duration of the condition. In general, acute conditions may only take a few sessions, whilst chronic conditions might take longer.
